Over many years our school has created a strong link with St Leonard’s Church. It is a Church of England Church that is family-friendly and active in the local community. The church attracts a mix of age groups with people from the local and neighbouring communities. A contact service is held every Sunday at 9:30am which is particularly suitable for families to attend with teaching activities for adults and children. Also once a month there is a family parade service where the Uniformed groups join with the Church to worship God. As a school we ensure we have an ‘experience worship’ service at Church each month of the school year.  During this time we go to Church and different year groups lead us in a time of worship. Children, staff and parents thoroughly enjoy this time and there is always a part led by the Ministry team at St Leonards. In addition to this we have linked with St Leonards to form a partnership in prayer where a class have met with members of the congregation and come together once a term to have fellowship and pray together. We join together and are involved in St Leonard’s Christingle service and take part in festivals by participating in St Leonard’s experience Pentecost and Harvest events.

The clergy team are well known to our children who attend church but also to those who don’t as they regularly visit school to lead worship or to take part in RE activities. Year 6 have the opportunity to ask the ‘Big questions’ about life and God to Alison Bailie (the church Rector) and thoroughly enjoy this time of discussion.

You will always receive a warm welcome at St Leonard’s Church so go and experience it for yourself. Follow the web link below to find out more about the church.

Please be aware that in light of the government guidance around Covid-19 public worship is currently suspended. Our children are still linking up with St Leonards ministry team via Zoom collective worship sessions. In addition for information about how St Leonards is holding services safely during this present time please check the church website.
